Terms & Conditions for Alterations and Mailing of Garments

Once your garment is received, La Sartoria will alter the garments to the specified measurements, descriptions, or preferred markings. La Sartoria can only alter garments to measurements, or descriptions that are in the database at the time of the alteration. La Sartoria can only alter garments that are marked at the time that garment is received. *Special circumstances may be viewed. La Sartoria is not responsible for any mistakes in the alteration of a garment(s) that results from a customer inputting incorrect measurements, markings, or descriptions. La Sartoria reserves the right to refuse any service on any garment(s) because of complexity of an alteration or anything La Sartoria deems appropriate. (E.g. Garments are too worn to be altered.) In this case a full refund will be given minus shipping fees. Some alterations on garments may have to be priced after seen. This may include alterations that are complex. Some alterations have conditions stated with the price of the alteration. Exp. A pants waist must be two (2″) or less. Additional Fees may apply for garments mailed that do not comply with the conditions stated in the alteration’s description.

The garment(s) can only be mailed to the address that is in our database. La Sartoria usually uses Royal Mail for all their mailing needs. If you prefer a different postal carrier, please state the preferred carrier. *Additional shipping charges may apply for different carriers. La Sartoria may require a signature for delivery of your garments. If you are not home at the time of the delivery, the postal service will hold your garment at the post office. La Sartoria is not responsible for any garments that are lost or damaged in postal transit. Prices on the website may or may not reflect the prices of alterations or products that are bought or altered in the store.

La Sartoria guarantees that most garments will be completed within five days of receiving the garments. Most garments are usually completed within a five day time period. An alteration on any garment(s) may take longer than five days if the alteration is complex or the materials are difficult to procure. La Sartoria has the right to deem necessary which alterations on whatever garments will take longer than five days. If an alteration on any garment will take longer than five days, a verbal or written communication with the customer will be made before starting the alteration or during the alteration process detailing the circumstances. In this case, if the customer does not want to proceed with the alteration(s), the garment(s) will be mailed back and a full refund will be given minus shipping cost. All orders are taken conditionally and promised for return within five days upon La Sartoria being able to secure the necessary items to the alteration. Without responsibility for delays arising through uncertainties of manufacture, strikes, accidents or other causes beyond our control. The five-day guarantee does not include postal transit times. In most cases La Sartoria ships garments via Royal Mail 1st Class. If you would like faster shipping or another postal carrier, please let us know. *Additional charges may occur for different shipments speeds or postal carriers.

Please contact La Sartoria within 7 days of receipt of your order should you have any queries about the alteration(s) or product(s) you have received. While every effort is made to ensure that you receive the required goods in the best possible condition, please inspect all items carefully upon receipt. Your garments are altered/custom-made according to specifications provided by you and therefore La Sartoria cannot accept returns or refunds on the goods for any aspect of the product which has been determined by you in particular but without limitation incorrect measurements, fabric choices, incorrect measurements of goods at the time of their manufacture, change to finish if we feel it more appropriate to the type of garment or fabric. Any claim by you which is based on any defect in the quality of the work or failure of the goods to correspond with the specification for work should be notified to us on discovery. Any valid claim of this sort shall not be accepted by La Sartoria unless made within 7 days from the date of delivery of the Goods. Customers are required to pay for the carriage of any goods being returned unless the goods were either faulty or the order was sent out in error, in which case we will refund the postage in full. This does not affect your statutory rights. Please note: no refunds can be given once the altered goods have been returned to the customer and subsequently cut, treated or altered in any way. In the unlikely event of any proven defect in the quality of the work or failure of the Goods to correspond with the specification, our liability shall be limited to a refund of the total sum paid for the alteration services as set out in our original quote to you. La Sartoria will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss of profits or other financial loss or damage arising out of defective, damaged or wrongly delivered goods, over and above the value of the work carried out. This does not affect your statutory rights.
